City to Propose Strict Sanction For Traffic Violators

Jakarta Transportation Dept. is proposing a strict sanction that will be given for the traffic violators in the capital. One of them is by making a hole on the driver's driving license (SIM) that has violated the traffic.

We will apply it in the future

According to Andri Yansyah, Head of Jakarta Transportation Dept., in some developed countries, sanctions for such traffic violators have been applied. The driver's driving license in violation of direct traffic is followed up at the spot.

"We will apply it in the future," he expressed, at City Hall, Tuesday (8/1).

By doing so, the number of violators that have been done can be monitored. Those who break the rules thrice, their driving license will be revoked.

"It should be so. And surely it will give deterrent effect," he stated.

Yansyah would propose it to some parties, namely Jakarta City Transportation Council (DTKJ) and Polda Metro Jaya. 

"If it is applied, public awareness in traffic will be formed," he closed.
